Since the beginning of 2003, the Hunsrück Technology and Founder's Centre (Technologie- und Gründerzentrum - TGZ) in Simmern/Ohlweiler has offered ideal prerequisites for business founders. The primary aim is to support people who want to set up their own businesses. Young, innovative companies from skilled trade and industry are supported in the foundation and set-up phase by providing them with a wide-ranging infrastructure as well as comprehensive advice.
The TGZ is available to all people interested in founding a business or for those people who already have founded a business. It is intended to help young companies from skilled trade and industry to survive the difficult first few years of business.

The Technology and Founder's Centre offers modern rooms for use as offices and workshops to business founders and young companies with innovative technology-oriented products and services in sectors where growth is strong and in skilled trade. In addition to this, the entire infrastructure is available, such as telecommunication, office service and conference rooms.
Another particularly important service is that the TGZ gives preliminary advice to founders during and after founding a business. Experience shows that there are essentially two factors which are decisive for the success of a new business:
On the one hand it is solid financing, which means for example planning financial reserves; on the other hand, only a company product or service which finds its place in the market has a long-term chance at creating a turnover.
This is why the service concentrates on precisely four points. Both the aforementioned points form the focal point of the advisory services offered.
- ExG - foundation advice with the focal point on determining the capital required & financing.
- ExS - marketing service with the focal point on the market launch of innovative technologies.
- ExK - long-term commercial support (controlling), which not only contributes to recognising erroneous developments at an early stage thereby considerably reducing the risk of insolvency, but which is also particular necessary when participating in public venture capital.
- ExB - help in creating a business plan for acquiring venture capital.
